My School Lesson 1 is an innovative musical teaching system that gives parents and teachers a fresh alternative for stimulating a child's natural desire to learn. Utilizing the elements of Hip Hop music, and an interactive curriculum, My School assists young children in mastering academic fundamentals. Teacher Tehuti is the founder of Early Educators Entertainment which produces the My School learning series. My School “Lesson 1 “ was conceived in early 2004, as a result of Teacher Tehuti's inability to find stimulating educational music that her own children and students could relate to. "I found the market [for children's music] to be dated and condescending. The children of today are intelligent and sophisticated. I felt there should be educational music that compliments these qualities."
With Co-founder and Producer, Ice Kream (William Brooks), and the determination to revolutionize children's music, by mid 2004, the CD My School Lesson 1 was launched. Featuring the two hot singles, “Number Time” and "It's Your Birthday". Since its release more than 1000 copies have been independently sold, making My School one of the most successful children's CDs to hit the market.
My School Lesson 1 is the first of ten lessons planned for this series each lesson will develop a child's knowledge of traditional academics as well as holistic education. In addition, there is an animated series (featuring fun loving characters) and teaching supplies in production for each lesson. Teacher Tehuti states "Our Mission is to provide young children with fun interactive educational music that stimulates and motivates both enthusiastic learners and those who have lost interest in education due to non-relatable lessons".
